Halloween has been and Christmas is yet to come. Days are a little dark and dreary. Time to boost spirits and your profits by bringing on the bubbly, be it Cava or a fine Champagne! Creating an eye catching display of wrapped bottles will remind customers that they can leave with a gift to give now or buy ahead ready for the holiday season.

Star patterned cellophane and wired metallic ribbon will transform even an inexpensive bottle of Cava into something special. Stand the present in the middle of the giftwrap and having brought up the short sides first, gather the cellophane in neat folds. Pull up the tails to ensure it isn’t bulky at the neck before tying securely with curling ribbon. Gather the cellophane and trim – this is optional.

For a finishing touch, pull the wire at one end and on one side of a half metre length of wired ribbon. Make sure you hold the other end of that wire as you gather the fabric and turn it in a circular motion to make a flower. Repeat with another length if a larger decoration is required. Tie them together and secure to the neck of the bottle.
