A lady came on a hamper training course
with a sample basket. She had sourced
some beautiful baby clothes but I thought
she had brought her washing! All were
neatly folded but there was no sense of it
being a gift. She left with the contents
rearranged and the gift wrapped. To her
delight, a number of people on the train
home asked where she got it.
Here are some handy hints to help you avoid the laundry look! Use a deep wicker tray
with a natural cloth liner- ideal afterwards to store toys, nappies or other items. Half fill the
hamper with polystyrene chips and cover with tissue paper. Arrange the contents upright
to create a full and generous look. If you are on a tight budget, you will need fewer items
if you lay them flat! Keep costs down by tucking crinkle cut between the gifts, as I have
done, instead of filling the hamper with shred first. For speed and simplicity use a
cellophane basket bag. A beautiful handmade bow increases the perceived value of
the gift. Make them during quiet times ready for busy periods! I used sheer and satin
ribbons to add the perfect finishing touch.

Note: You could also
recycle polystyrene chips
found in deliveries or use
other packing materials
in the base of the hamper
Note: All other items were purchased
